8 Day Moroccan Desert Hiking Tour with Marrakesh

Begin your tour with a drive into the Atlas Mountains to Ouzoud Waterfalls. Pass by Imi n’Ifri Natural Bridge and the dinosaur footprints of Iwariden. View landscapes of snow-capped peaks, lush valleys, gorges and plateaus.

Next, begin the walk from your hotel towards the Berber village of Tanaghmalte. Stop at the village for mint tea before heading down to the valley, along a mule path. Reach the river bed called Tissakht and cross to the other side via a wooden bridge. Continue the walk to arrive at the famous Ouzoud Waterfalls, a 330-foot high falls surrounded by thousands of olive trees.

Later, begin the day with a drive to the scenic Kik Plateau. Embark on a hike in Toubkal National Park, located in the Atlas Mountains. The trail takes you through juniper forests, picturesque valleys and stunning scenery. View the towering snow-capped peak of Mount Toubkal at an elevation 13,751 feet. Stop for tea and lunch with a local family and experience Moroccan hospitality.

DAY 2, Sunday – Arrive in Marrakesh
Arrive in Marrakesh and transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure. Your tour will begin with an orientation meeting with your Tour Manager at approximately 6 PM, followed by a light dinner. We recommend that you select flights which arrive no later than 4 PM

DAY 3, Monday – M’Goun National Geopark Hike
The drive today takes you into the Atlas Mountains to Ouzoud Waterfalls. Continue to M’Goun, a UNESCO Global Geopark. Embark on a hike through this dramatic red-rock country. Pass by Imi n’Ifri Natural Bridge and the dinosaur footprints of Iwariden. View landscapes of snow-capped peaks, lush valleys, gorges and plateaus. Later, enjoy a picnic lunch with a local family. Tonight dinner is at the hotel

DAY 4, Tuesday – Bin El Quidane to Agoudi El Khir Walk, M’Goun Geopark Museum
This morning, drive past the village of Azilal to the starting point of the hike. The trail runs between Agoudi El Khir and Bin El Ouidane Dam area, overlooking the snow-capped High Atlas Mountains. Arrive at a viewpoint offering panoramic views of Bin El Ouidane Lake and descent to Ait El Bakour village, continuing to Wiam lodge. From here drive to a restaurant, overlooking the lake for lunch. In the afternoon, visit the M’Goun Geopark Museum, with exhibits that showcase the valuable cultural and natural heritage of the geopark. Afterward, return to your hotel

DAY 5, Wednesday – Oued El Abid Gorge
Head to the mesmerizing gorge of Oued El Abid. Begin your hike on a zigzag path down the cliff to the river. Cross the river and continue your trek to the village of Ait El Arbi where you will lunch with a local Berber family and experience Moroccan hospitality. Continue the walk through an area known for its olive oil and almond harvest. Return to the hotel for the remainder of the day at leisure

DAY 6, Thursday – Hike to Ouzoud Waterfalls, Camel Ride, Agafay
After breakfast, walk to the famous Ouzoud Waterfalls, a 330-foot high falls surrounded by thousands of olive trees. You might be able to spot monkeys and native wildlife in their natural habitat. Continue up to the Berber village of Tanaghmalte where you will stop for a break and mint tea. In the afternoon, travel to Agafay Desert, an oasis outside Marrakesh. Enjoy a camel ride through the desert, then dinner and overnight at the camp

DAY 7, Friday – Hike in Toubkal National Park

Stop for a picnic lunch in the forest. Later, return to the camp. Tonight bid farewell to your Tour Manager
