At Grand Escapades, we strive for customer satisfaction by providing all types of personalized travel, 100% catered to our traveler’s needs. The following is a trip review of the Globus “Great Canadian War Memorial Tour”:
The Globus “Great Canadian War Memorial Tour'” is a must do for anyone with even the slightest interest in Canadian or World War I and II history. It visits the memorials and war sites than not only effected the path of world history but also the events that literally initiated Canada’s development into the strong and independent country it is today. From the WW I battle sites of the Somme, Vimy Ridge, Beaumont – Harnel and Flanders Fields at Ypres to the horrors of Dieppe and Juno Beach in WW II, all is covered. But not as a dry history lesson but presented by knowledgeable and trained guides who bring the events to life, augmented by museums with interactive modern electronic displays. The realism is incredible and the emotion palpable. This is also an ideal way for people interested in genealogy to located grave stones of lost family members.
Each visit and event is very emotional but not maudlin and the tension is broken by travels through picturesque French and Belgium countryside and villages. Part of the tour time is spent visiting the principle tourist sights of Paris and optional tours include a visit to The Louvre, a Seine Cruise and an evening at a Parisian cabaret. A stop is also made at Monet’s garden in Giverny, altogether a very balanced program.
The hotels selected were very adequate and particularly well located, the food provided in the package was good and recommendations for restaurants and shopping made by the guides were always excellent.
As a traveler who has used Globus several times this tour surpassed my expectation
