The African Safaris
Safari means adventure and few places conjure up as many exciting images as a safari in Africa. Game viewing today is easy throughout the Eastern and Southern continent in some of the world’s finest parks and game reserves.
- Escorted safaris range from weekends away in South Africa’s Kruger Park to lengthy tours of several countries. You’ll travel in comfort by staying in luxury camps and lodges, or choose more basic accommodation for added adventure.
- Kenya’s Aberdare National Park is home to the renowned game viewing lodges, Treetops and the Ark. This is a wonderful way to observe animals in their natural habitat right from your hotel. The animals come to you, day and night.
- Game can be seen year round but avoid the wet seasons. The long and short rains will really dampen your experience and you probably won’t see so much.
- The annual migrations of zebra and wildebeest in Tanzania’s Serengeti Plains are spectacular. These take place heading north to south in October and November and back south to north between April and June. There is no fixed timetable however, as the animals migrate according to rainfall patterns.
